This course for graduates of a foundational training in biodynamic craniosacral therapy will be taught by Ryan Hallford, craniosacral therapist, educator, and host of The Craniosacral Podcast.
This workshop takes a closer look at the deeper nature of the heart and blood, starting with their embryonic origin. Blood is said by some embryologists to be the first organ formed in the embryo. It is a fundamental transport medium and communication network in the body, a field of mobile potency. Blood is utilized by the nervous, endocrine, immune, and other systems to continuously serve the quest for equilibrium in the body. It is the focal hub for much of the activity of life. Blood is incredibly dynamic, and yet maintains a field of deep biological neutrality that stabilizes the entire organism.
The heart has captivated humankind like no other organ. It is said to be the home of the mind and location of our deepest sense of self. Primary Respiration often reveals the heart to be a deep well of stillness and peace. The heart and blood, when perceived through the lens of the slower movements of Primary Respiration, demonstrate different qualities than those attributed to them by modern models of physiology. We find that the heart actually acts in the service of the blood, regulating the inherent motion and potency found in the blood field itself.
