This workshop will focus on the Eight Pieces of Brocade. This set is many hundreds of years old and is well rooted in sound principles and movement. The Eight Brocade is structured in a beautifully cohesive way with each exercise having archetypal qualities open for personal interpretation. My version of this set is largely influenced by Dr Yang Jwing Ming and Master Sam Masich.
In my experience, this set provides excellent benefits for body, awareness, and the subtle energies at play within and around us.
In this mini-workshop we will briefly review the Zhan Zhuang Five Palm Positions. We will then look at each of the Eight Brocade practices with an eye for developing underlying principles and good body mechanics.
No experience is necessary. All are welcome.
